Clinical Services

The clinical staff consists of licensed and co-occurring credentialed therapists whose practice is to actively engage each woman upon arrival. Our consultant psychiatrist performs evaluations and on-going medication monitoring for those in need. We refer to our programs as a family system’s of care and gender responsive treatment model. Ours is a holistic approach to treatment as women navigate through all the stages of their recovery journey. It is the aim of staff to model advocacy and self sufficiency as women learn through practical repetition and creative strategies to be independent in their recovery.

The program has expanded upon evidenced-based groups and therapeutic approaches such as:

Social Services

The Social Service Department provides comprehensive case management services and life skills counseling. Through a collaborative process of assessment, planning and advocacy, services are identified and provided to assist each woman in achieving her recovery goals.

• Job readiness training and placement
• GED and Adult Basic Education
• Housing referrals
• Life Skills Counseling and Advocacy
• Legal – pro bono lawyers, advocacy, court accompaniment
• Medical referrals and supports
• Financial – credit counseling, budgeting
• Wellness Groups (covering topics like healthcare issues, parenting classes, nutrition, living in recovery)
• Referrals to community resources
• Transportation
• Recreation

Family & Children Services

The Family House program, together with our childcare center, addresses the needs of both mother and children. The main areas of focus are to increase parenting capabilities, mother child bonding, improve family functioning, and to increase children’s competence. Pregnant women receive prenatal care, life skills counselors and other women in the Family House provide support during birth, and post partum women continue to receive treatment while having centering time with their newborn.

In the Halfway House, where women reside without their children, the Parenting services are less hands on, but focus on building trust, a mother’s love, and teaching children to work toward progress, not perfection. If reunification is possible, we require that mothers attend parenting groups to prepare for the eventuality and offer case management services, referrals and other services for children not in treatment.
